OUR FOUNDER HAS ADOPTED THE HOME

After the successful free medical camp, our founder together with the team visited Kwetu Nyumbani children’s home in Kitale, a home care facility for kids with four cottages, a dormitory, medical clinic, pharmacy, youth center, community center, playgroup, library, computer lab, kitchen farm, water supply, and greenhouse. Together we encouraged and provided material support to the kids there and the team that takes great care of them. The home provides life-saving care to more than 100 HIV-positive children in Kenya, aged between newborns to 23 years. The kids live in the home until they are self-reliant. We, together with the team, will hold hands and continue to provide the kids with life-changing comprehensive medical services, and nutritional, psychological, educational, and spiritual care for their general well-being, even after they leave Kwetu Nyumbani Children’s Home care.

This will help the kids transition back to society. Kwetu Nyumbani also helps the children identify their family members and encourage extended family members to visit them during the Christmas holidays. The stigma around HIV/AIDS has kids neglected by their families leading these children to low self-esteem issues, drug addictions, and of worse, suicide. The home has taken in kids in desperate conditions like malnutrition. It’s not just about the children’s health in Kwetu Nyumbani home but other holistic views of every child like quality education, post-graduate career counseling, mental health training, and spiritual growth.

Kwetu Nyumbani home has competent caregivers who act as positive role models to help the children raise confident, happy children with native cultural traditions. Though death still threatens, today most of our kids from the home facility are living to adulthood with a brighter future ahead. Our founder has made a decision to support the home in every way possible to ensure the kids continue to receive quality service from the home facility. We as a team are determined to give them the best, and together with our current and future partners, we will make this a reality. We appreciate the Kwetu Nyumbani team for the great work!
