Trans-Nzoia Senator Allan Chesang has hosted the spouse of the Deputy President Her Excellency Dr. Pastor Dorcas Rigathi in Kitale for a couple of activities that include, a church service in Full Gospel Church bondeni, People with disability programme in Kiminini constituency, visit to Senator ICT hub, launch of a two day free medical camp in Kipsongo ward Saboti constituency, Preventive programme in Endebess Constituency, and Widows feeding programme in Geta Cherangany constituency.
The Allan Chesang Foundation has partnered with the Office of the spouse of the Deputy President to do a 2 day free medical camp in Kipsongo, Saboti Constituency. The two medical camp saw over 3000 patients attended to, and over 4000 people fed during the free camp.
In these series of official events and visit graced by the Spouse of the Deputy President Pastor Dorcas Rigathi, She, together with our Founder Senator Allan Chesang launched a 2-day free medical camp targeting those in alcoholism, drugs and substance abuse in Trans-Nzoia county. Speaking at Kipsongo ground when she launched the camp, she helped in identification of those whom require rehabilitation from various forms of drug abuse. Hundreds of youths from across the county turned up for the camp as well as the general public.
Speaking during the preventive programme in Endebess Constituency, she has urged the youth to shun from alcoholism, drugs and substance abuse which says have derailed many of the youth in the country from achieving their goals and dreams. She however, assured them that she is ready to embrace them as their mother regardless of their status. Adding that, she is concerned over the rising cases of teen pregnancies in the region, something she says must be addressed. Stating that such cases have also contributed to an increase in cases of HIV/Aids infections and Gender based violence.
Trans-Nzoia Senator, Allan Chesang has said the program is a well thought initiative that will help many youths who are already hooked into drugs ad substance abuse to pick up their pieces and validate their dreams. He has welcomed the program and promised to be part of it and support them in all the ways that he can.
She visited the Senators ICT Hub in Trans-Nzoia county which was officially launched by President William Ruto and open to students to learn digital skills and other computer related programs. She has commended the Senators’ effort in the region through his numerous empowerment programs to women, men and more so to the youths. She urged Senator Chesang to continue lifting and supporting youths and assured him of her support.
The Widows feeding programme was one of the biggest event, it saw over seven thousand widows fed and the office of the spouse of the deputy President and the Senators office distributed over 7000 bags of dry food stuff each to these widows. Senator Chesang assured the women that this programme will be done frequently and other form of empowerment like, business support will be given. Pastor Dorcas Rigathi assured the senator of her support to the widows in the region.
These series of events were a success.
