The Senator’s Swing Golf tournament happened earlier at the Kitale Golf Club and it brought together like minded business individuals with a mutual goal for community development. Senator Allan, who was the host, led the players in displaying their golf skills and awards were thereafter awarded to different participants.
Senator Chesang hosted the inauguration of the golf tournament that is aimed at driving local development and tee off progress for a stronger and united future. The inauguration of this Swing Golf was a success and it was graced by Hon. Caleb Mulee and Hon. Shakeel Shabbir. The mission of the Senators’ Swing Golf tournament is to foster education and other areas of development is Trans-Nzoia county.
During the Golf award dinner, Senator Allan said that the tournament will be an annual event and thanked Kitale Golf club for providing the venue. He added that the objective of the Senator’s Swing remains shaping a promising future and they will implement strategic initiatives that they have agreed upon.
The Allan Chesang Super League finals came to an end in a highly celebrated event that took place at The Kitale Polytechnic College in Kitale and graced by a number of distinguished leaders including, The Speaker of the National Assembly Rt. Hon. Moses M. Wetangula, The Speaker of the Senate Rt. Hon. Jeffah A. Kingi, Cabinet Secretary of Health Dr. Susan Nakumicha, Secretary General of UDA party Hon. Cleophas Malala, Senator David Wakoli, Nominated Senator Hon. Karen Nyamu, Hon. Martin Pepela, Hon. Kakai Bisau, Hon. Ferdinand Wanyonyi, Hon. Patrick Simiyu, Hon. Caleb Mulee, Hon. Shakeel Sharbir, members of the Trans-Nzoia County Assembly and many other leaders.
The tournament which was fully packed by fans from not only Trans-Nzoia County but also from neighboring counties, started at 9am with men’s play off , then the boda boda friendly match, women finals and finally the men finals was a highly contested match. The men category was between Bwayi FC and Sikhendu FC.
The final match marked the culmination of a tournament that brought together 450 teams that showcased the rich diversity of the county’s’ melting pot of talent. The tournament gave the youths a chance to shine, be scouted and guided towards a brighter future hence, exemplifying the power of sports in not only fostering connections and unlocking opportunities but also curb drug abuse among the youths.
This Super League has been a celebration of triumph unity by bringing in youths across the county and also different leaders from all over the country. The presence of these leaders added to the significance of this occasion and reinforcing their commitment to support youth talent and foster unity. The leaders addressed the people gathered at the tournament and applauded Trans-Nzoia Senator for organizing such an highly events to promote talent among the youths.
Speaking after the match, Senator Allan Chesang congratulated Sikhendu FC for emerging as the winners of the second edition of the super contested Super League. They walked away with one million Kenya Shillings and also the 2nd runners up and the 3rd and fourth in both categories were awarded accordingly. The success of this tournament is a clear indicator that if fully supported, our youths are more than willing to showcase their talent.
The two events have been a success and the senator thanked all his partners that came aboard for both the Allan Chesang Super League Finals and the Senator’s Swing Golf tournament.
